JOB POSTING – POSTDOCTORAL FELLOW (2 positions)
Area of Research: Manipulating immune cells to identify novel therapeutic strategies
Description of Duties:
Two post-doctoral positions are available in which the candidates will conduct innovative research on harnessing the power of CRISPR to engineer cells of the immune system. The successful candidates will be part of a larger team of scientists in the Moffat laboratory that is broadly focused on cell engineering and functional genomics.
Salary: Commensurate with experience and in accordance with collective agreement.
Candidates should have a PhD in molecular/cellular biology, immunology, or a related discipline. They will be responsible for assay design, experimental execution, manuscript preparation and data presentation. Strong communication and record keeping skills are needed.
The applicant should have experience in T cell engineering (such as CAR-T or transgenic TCR T cells), expertise in the characterization, culture, expansion, and manipulation, experience with functional assays to measure cytokines, CRISPR experience, lentiviral vector design and cloning.
The successful candidate will need excellent oral and written communication skills as well as strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

The normal hours of work are 40 hours per week for a full-time Postdoctoral Fellow (pro-rated for those holding a partial appointment) recognizing that the needs of the employee’s research and training and the needs of the supervisor’s research program may require flexibility in the performance of the employee’s duties and hours of work.
Employment as a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Toronto is covered by the terms of the CUPE 3902 Unit 5 Collective Agreement.
