Department: Musculoskeletal & Multisystem Rehab Program, 8 southReports to: Manager, Program ServicesSalary Range: $35.66 - $44.57 per hourHours: 37.5 per week Shifts: Weekdays / Weekends Status: Temporary Full-time (approx.1 month with possibility of extension)
JOB SUMMARYThe Physiotherapist (PT) is an integral member of the Physiotherapy service, Allied Health and clinical programs in which care is provided. Through the provision of patient and non-patient care activities, the PT enhances the quality of life of patients by: providing physical therapy assessment and treatment for Musculoskeletal and Cardiac clients; assessing for and prescribe mobility aids; collaborating with inter-professional team in providing patient focused care; communicating effectively with patients, families, and team members; participating in program planning and development and professional and hospital initiatives supporting quality management and research; complying with and commitment to patient safety responsibilities and corresponding hospital plans, policies and procedures in order to ensure a safe environment for patients.
QUALIFICATIONS:• Minimum of 2 years clinical experience in musculoskeletal and orthopaedic conditions is required• Previous experience working with Cardiac patients is preferred• Bobath and/or NDT experience preferred• Registered with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario• Basic Cardiac Life Support (B Level or C Level) Heart Saver Plus Canada • Membership in Canadian Physiotherapy Association preferred• Experience as member of interprofessional team required• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) required• Excellent problem solving skills• Complies with the Code of Ethics and Rules of Conduct of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association• Demonstrates competence with departmental and hospital safety, emergency and infection control procedures • Ability to exercise sound clinical judgment and to function in an independent, self-directed manner • Computer proficiency required
