The Statistics Graduate Student Research Day is an annual one-day conference jointly organized by the Department of Statistical Sciences (DoSS) and the Statistics Graduate Student Union (SGSU). The purpose of Research Day is to provide graduate students exposure to current methods, leading experts, and important topical themes in the field of statistics. The theme for Research Day 2020 is Applications of Data Science in Life Sciences, Genetics and Genomics.
The Research Day aims to provide students with an academic forum in which they can present, discuss and receive feedback on their research from their peers, faculty, and invited guests. The day consists of four invited talks given by top international researchers, four presentations given by senior graduate students in the DoSS, and a poster session open to all graduate students in the DoSS. Graduate students and researchers from all institutions are welcome to attend this event, with a particular emphasis placed on graduate student participation.
In addition to the four graduate student speakers from the DoSS (to be announced), and a lunch-time poster session, we are pleased to welcome the following invited speakers:
|10:10 to 10:40|
|11:55 to 12:25|
